Website:

Chautauqua Industrial Art Desk

Client:

The art education community at large

This website is the first and only known website on the subject of the curious Victorian-era child's toy called the Chautauqua Industrial Art Desk.

The challenge of this website design was to create a late Victorian look and feel, yet take advantage of features available through online technology.

An elaborate interactive area was made where users may virtually advance the desk's scroll to show one of 13 different learning activities.

Scans of the antique and out-of-print booklets make rare primary source material about art education available to the general public.

Curiously enough, this website receives more fan mail than all of my other websites combined.
